ABOUT THE SHOW
From the company that brought you the NODA award winning productions of Gypsy and Calendar Girls: The Musical, KW Productions is proud to present one of the darkest musicals ever written, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Sweeney Todd tells the infamous tale of an unjustly exiled barber who returns home to Victorian London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who ruined his life. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun!
Sweeney Todd has become a bloody, worldwide success and is widely regarded as Sondheim’s masterpiece. With a thrilling full orchestra performing live on stage, this multi Tony award winning musical promises a soaring, operatic score, and an evening full of lush vocals, pitch-black comedy and stunning terror.
